I chose to feature this video of Chill Moody for many reasons. I have always been a big fan of real Hip-Hop, and a supporter of Philly music artist. However, this isn't just a simple music plug, its more like an acknowledgment of an individual who is determined to master a craft. I've seen Chill's progress as an artist over the years. So many times I hear people talk about the things that they are passionate about, but don't know how to channel it into success. Fortunately, the city of Philadelphia has an inspiring example, through artist like "Chill" showing that hard work and dedication to your craft is never exhausted. If you know anything about Philly's music scene, you know that "The Come-Up Show" with DJ Cosmic Kev is a validating checkpoint for underground artist to show the whole tri-state area exactly what their lyrics and musical movement is made of. What you see in the video above is raw talent, wrapped up in a nice cover by Babylon Cartel. Listening to a rapper that knows exactly how to approach classic beats, is surely refreshing for any Hip-Hop ear. I applaud Chill for his musical genius and staying true to the element of Hip-Hop. Reassuring advocates of good music--that you don't need gimmicks to get ahead. It's still an unpredictable road in front of him, but his momentum is looking promising.
